Unmodernised homes in the Woodseats and Hillsborough areas of Sheffield are in demand.
In an auction held by Mark Jenkinson and Son, 30 of the 36 lots sold for £2.75m.
Adrian Little, head of the auction department at Mark Jenkinson and Son, said: “The figures for December continued the upward trend even though the auction was two weeks before Christmas and just before the General Election.
“We saw exceptional levels of interest for two properties at Woodseats and Hillsborough. We had more than 50 viewings for the vacant terraced houses.
“It illustrated the extremely strong demand for classic, unmodernised homes in Sheffield and, in particular, in these districts.”
In the past two years the Sheffield-based auctioneers have held 16 auctions where 502 of the 586 lots sold for £61.65m, a success rate of 86%.
Its next auction takes place on January 28th.
